Johor Bahru · Records Review

"My mother kept everything in one tin — land documents, insurance letters, old correspondence — going back forty years. After two hours with Nurul Ain I had a printed list of every single piece of paper and actually understood what each one was. The glossary helped enormously; I did not realise how many standard phrases I had just been reading past for years."

"We were handling estate paperwork after my father passed and found ourselves overwhelmed with different offices asking for different combinations of documents. Kinfold took over the assembly work completely. The weekly status notes were genuinely useful — precise about what had been sent and honest about what the waiting period was likely to be. Nothing was dressed up."

"I arranged the workshop series for our mosque's family welfare unit. Siti Rahayu delivered all six sessions clearly and at a pace that worked for participants who had never thought systematically about their household papers before. The workbooks were well-written in a way that did not talk down to anyone. We have already used the facilitator pack to run session two again for a group who missed it."

"My wife and I are in our late sixties and wanted our children to know what we have and where it is before anything happened. The review session was calm and thorough. There was one old insurance document from the 1990s that none of us had ever properly read — Kinfold explained what it was and wrote a note saying we should check with the insurer whether it remained active. That alone was worth the session."

"I appreciated that they were upfront about what they could not do. When a question about the land title came up that needed a legal answer, they stopped and wrote it into the status note as a referral point rather than trying to answer it themselves. It sounds like a small thing but it actually made me trust everything else they told me more."

Senai · Workshop Series

"We organised the series for the HR welfare programme at our company. Attendance was good across all six weeks, which says something. The session on storage for humid conditions was particularly practical — most of our staff had not thought about that specifically and a few came back the next week saying they had already reorganised their files at home."

Three engagements in detail

How the work actually ran in practice, from first contact to closing file. Identifying details changed with client agreement.

Challenge

A family in Johor Bahru with documents spread across three properties, some in Bahasa Malaysia, some in English, some going back to the 1970s. The adult children wanted to understand the full picture before an upcoming discussion with a lawyer about their parents' estate planning.

What Kinfold did

A Records Review appointment spanning two sessions on consecutive days. Summary sheets produced for sixty-three separate documents. Referral notes written for four documents where the family's questions required legal assessment. Glossary compiled covering seventeen administrative terms found across the collection.

Outcome

The family entered their legal consultation with a complete printed index of their documents and a clear sense of what each one said on its face. The lawyer later wrote to say the preparation had made the consultation substantially more productive than usual. Duration: 2 sessions across 2 days.

Challenge

A household in Pasir Gudang working through an estate administration matter after a parent's death. Multiple government counters had provided conflicting information about the order and combination of documents required. The family had already made two unsuccessful submissions.

What Kinfold did

A Documentation Support Engagement: assembly of documents in the order confirmed by the relevant institution, preparation of three separate copy sets for three different recipients, attestation appointments booked and attended by the client. Correspondence log maintained throughout. Eight weekly status notes issued.

Outcome

The submission was accepted on first attempt. The engagement ran for seven of the eight contracted weeks. The closing file contained the full correspondence log, copies of all submissions and a final summary note. The family reported that the weekly status notes had substantially reduced their anxiety during the waiting periods. Duration: 7 weeks.

Challenge

A workplace welfare committee at a mid-sized logistics company in Johor Bahru wanted to provide staff with practical family record-keeping skills. Previous attempts using informal talks had not produced lasting change. The committee wanted something structured that staff could take home.

What Kinfold did

Six-session Family Information Workshop Series delivered in person at the company's welfare room. Twenty-two participants across two cohorts. Workbooks and index template packs posted to all participants one week before the first session. Recorded catch-up sessions provided for staff who missed individual weeks.

Outcome

Post-series feedback showed nineteen of twenty-two participants had begun building a family index using the template before the series ended. The welfare committee used the facilitator pack to run the series again for a second intake six weeks later without rebooking Kinfold. Duration: 6 weeks.
