2. Acceptance of terms
By using this website or booking a service, you confirm that you are at least 18 years of age, have the legal capacity to enter into a binding agreement, and accept these Terms & Conditions in full. If you are booking on behalf of an organisation, you confirm you have authority to bind that organisation.
3. Service description and scope
Kinfold provides clerical and educational services only. Our Services describe documents, summarise their contents in plain language and support the administrative and organisational work surrounding a documentation matter. We do not provide legal advice, financial advice, medical advice or any other form of regulated professional advice at any point.
Where a question falls outside this scope, we note this in writing and identify the type of qualified professional the User should consult. This referral note does not constitute a recommendation of any specific professional or firm.
Services are available to individuals and organisations in Malaysia. Delivery of physical materials outside Malaysia is subject to postal availability and additional costs.
4. Booking and payment
Services are booked by submitting the enquiry form on our website or by contacting us directly. A booking is confirmed only when we issue a written confirmation email.
Prices (inclusive of all included deliverables as described on our website):
- Records Review & Plain-Language Summary: RM 490
- Documentation Support Engagement (8 weeks): RM 1,720
- Family Information Workshop Series (6 sessions): RM 3,850
Payment is due in full before the first session or engagement commencement, unless otherwise agreed in writing. We accept bank transfer and major digital payment methods available in Malaysia. All prices are in Malaysian Ringgit (RM) and include SST where applicable.
5. Cancellation and rescheduling
Records Review: Cancellations made more than 48 hours before the appointment receive a full refund. Cancellations within 48 hours are non-refundable but may be rescheduled once without charge, subject to availability.
Documentation Support Engagement: If you cancel before the engagement begins, a full refund is issued. Once the engagement has commenced, a pro-rata refund is calculated based on the proportion of work completed, less a RM 200 administration fee.
Workshop Series: Cancellations more than seven days before the first session receive a full refund. Cancellations within seven days are non-refundable. Individual missed sessions within a booked series may be covered by the recorded catch-up session provided.
Kinfold reserves the right to reschedule a session in the event of unforeseen circumstances. In such cases, you will be offered an alternative date or a full refund.
6. User responsibilities
- Provide accurate information when booking and during sessions
- Bring documents to review sessions in a condition suitable for reading
- Sign and submit all correspondence in your own name during a support engagement — Kinfold does not act as your representative or agent
- Seek qualified professional advice for any questions that fall outside Kinfold's clerical and educational scope
- Not use Kinfold's outputs (summary sheets, status notes, reports) as a substitute for qualified legal, financial or other professional advice
You must not provide false information, use Kinfold's services for any unlawful purpose or attempt to have Kinfold act outside its stated clerical scope.
7. Intellectual property
All original materials produced by Kinfold — including summary sheet formats, workshop workbooks, index templates and facilitator packs — remain the intellectual property of Kinfold. We grant you a non-exclusive, non-transferable licence to use these materials for your personal or organisational household record-keeping purposes.
You may not reproduce, sell or distribute Kinfold materials commercially without prior written permission.
Documents and data you provide to us remain your property at all times.
8. Disclaimers
Kinfold's Services are provided on an "as described" basis. We make no representation that the information contained in a summary sheet is complete in any legal, financial or regulatory sense — it describes what appears on the face of documents as read by our team.
We do not warrant that any documentation matter will be resolved successfully, that institutions will accept submissions in any particular timeframe, or that our referral notes will lead to a satisfactory professional consultation.
9. Limitation of liability
To the fullest extent permitted by Malaysian law, Kinfold's total liability to you in connection with any service shall not exceed the amount you paid for that service. We are not liable for indirect, consequential or incidental loss arising from use of our Services, including delays by external institutions or decisions made by you on the basis of our summary outputs.
Nothing in this clause limits liability for death, personal injury or fraud caused by our negligence.
10. Indemnification
You agree to indemnify Kinfold against any claim, loss or expense (including reasonable legal costs) arising from your misuse of our Services, your provision of false information or your use of our outputs in a manner inconsistent with these Terms.
11. Termination
Either party may end a Documentation Support Engagement by giving seven days' written notice. Upon termination, Kinfold will produce a closing note summarising work completed to date, and a pro-rata refund will be calculated as described in Section 5.
We reserve the right to refuse or end an engagement immediately if we determine that the requested work falls outside our scope or conflicts with applicable law.
12. Governing law and disputes
These Terms are governed by the laws of Malaysia. Any dispute arising from or related to these Terms shall first be addressed by informal communication between the parties. If unresolved within thirty days, either party may refer the matter to the courts of Johor Bahru, Malaysia, which shall have non-exclusive jurisdiction.
13. Changes to these terms
We may update these Terms from time to time. The updated version will be published on this page with a revised "Last Updated" date. Continued use of our website or services after the effective date constitutes acceptance of the updated Terms.
