Three services. One scope: clerical and educational only.
Each service is designed for a different stage of a family's documentation situation. Pick the one that matches where you are now.
Back to HomeHow Kinfold approaches every engagement
Describe, don't interpret
We say what a document contains in plain language. We do not say what it means for your circumstances — that is the work of a qualified professional.
Everything in writing
Every session produces a written output — summary, status note or engagement report — within two working days. Verbal discussions are always backed by a paper record.
You submit; we prepare
For support engagements, you sign and submit everything in your own name. Kinfold prepares, assembles and organises — we do not act on your behalf.
Records Review & Plain-Language Summary
A focused two-hour appointment where a Kinfold reviewer works through your family's paperwork with you, reading each document and summarising it in plain language on the spot. The session produces a printed summary sheet listing every document by date, issuer and a one-line description of what it says on its face.
The work is descriptive: we note what is written, translate administrative terms and flag documents that appear absent based on what the collection as a whole suggests should be there. We do not interpret documents for legal or financial effect — where a question calls for that, we write a referral note identifying the type of professional to consult.
Suited to households where one person has always managed the papers and others in the family want to understand what exists, and to families whose documents span more than one language.

What is included
Documentation Support Engagement
A two-month clerical engagement for families working through a specific documentation matter — estate administration, property ownership changes, insurance claims paperwork or similar. We take over the assembly and tracking work so the family can focus on the decisions rather than the filing.
Throughout the engagement, you sign and submit everything in your own name. Kinfold prepares, assembles, copies and tracks on your behalf, maintaining a correspondence log and issuing a short written status note every week. The work is clerical and informational only — no advice, interpretation or representation at any point.
At the end of the eight weeks, you receive a bound closing file containing the full log, copies of all submissions and a summary of the engagement from start to finish.
Family Information Workshop Series
A six-session educational series for extended families, community groups or workplace welfare committees. Sessions run for two hours each over six weeks and cover the range of skills a household needs to keep its records in reasonable order across a lifetime.
All content is general and educational. Sessions do not address any individual participant's specific circumstances. The series works equally well in person at the organising group's venue or online. Printed workbooks are posted to all participants in advance of the first session regardless of delivery format.
The facilitator pack included with every booking is designed so a member of the organising group can run the series independently in future without rebooking Kinfold.

Standards that apply to all three services
These are not service-level add-ons — they are baseline requirements of every Kinfold engagement.
Originals returned
Original documents are returned at the end of each session. We retain copies only as long as needed to complete the work.
Written outputs within two working days
Summary sheets, status notes and reports are always provided in written form within two working days of any session or scheduled update point.
PDPA-aligned data handling
Personal data is held only as long as necessary. Handling aligned to Malaysia's Personal Data Protection Act 2010.
Scope described before work begins
The exact nature of the work is confirmed in writing before each engagement begins, including what falls outside Kinfold's scope.
Timeline ranges, not fixed dates
External institutional timelines are communicated honestly as ranges. We update clients promptly when any timeline changes.
Clear referral when out of scope
When a question requires legal, financial or other qualified assessment, we say so explicitly in writing and identify the type of professional needed.
